Coreboot Firmware for the System76 Darter Pro 5

We have successfully compiled and deployed a coreboot firmware for the Darter Pro 5 notebook from System76 (darp5). The sources were partially fetched via tor and partially via a VPN. Compilation took place on a clean boot stick installation (https://www.elstel.org/deblive/). We have additionally updated the description on how to flash the BIOS for the darp5 externally. An important paramter for flashrom was missing. That was why it did not work in practice last time (but now it is working good and reliably).

Autraliens Premierminister ist ein Klimawandel-Leugner. Bei den Wahlen 2019 mobilisierte er die öffentliche Meinung gegen Steuererhöhungen allgemein und gegen Umweltsteuern im besonderen. Es hätte ein Votum gegen den Klimawandel werden müssen, doch der Betrug und die Irreführung der konservativen Klimawandel-Leugner gewann gegen einen eher hölzernen Kontrahenten, der es nicht verstanden hat die öffentliche Meinung zu mobilisieren. Australien steht in Flammen und Tony Abbotts Vorgänger Morrison hat öffentlich ausgesagt: „Die Welt ist im Würgegriff eines Klima-Kultes”; lesen Sie mehr im Guardian.

Der Einzelhandelsriese Amazon hat Angestellte mit der Kündigung bedroht, weil sich diese wegen des Klimawandels an die Öfffentlichkeit gewandt haben. Die Klima- und Umweltstrategie des Unternehmens gab bereits Anstoß zu mehreren Protestaktionen von NGOs wie Greenpeace oder Attac. So werden zurückgegeben Produkte meist einfach geschreddert und vernichtet anstatt sie für neue Kunden noch einmal aufzuheben. Amazon hat sich weiters schuldig gemacht Klimawandel-Leugner finanziell zu unterstützen; Guardian: mehr dazu.

Australia´s prime minister is a climate denier. In the 2019 election he mobilized public opinion against tax rises in general and particularly against environment taxes. It should have been a vote against climate change where the deception of a right winger won against his adversary who did fall short in making public opinion. Even as Australia burns, Tony Abbott, Morrison’s conservative predecessor, was still saying the world was “in the grip of a climate cult”; Guardian: read more.

The retail giant Amazon has threatened to fire employees for speaking out on climate change. The climate and environmental strategy of the company has already been in the focus of protest actions by NGOs like Greenpeace and Attac. Returned products are often not saved for new customers but shreddered into waste. Amazon is guilty of funding climate denial; read more in the Guardian.

Inzwischen hat der australische Premierminister eingeräumt, daß der Klimawandel die Feuer in Australien antreibt. Sagen Sie ihm, daß er auch danach handeln soll. Im Nordosten Australiens in Queensland ist derweil ein riesige Kohlemiene in Planung: die Carmichael Miene des indischen Adani Konzerns. Die Kohle soll den langen Weg nach Indien verschifft werden um dort Energie zu produzieren, die dann nach Bangladesch exportiert würde. Es ist ein aberwitziges und zynisches Projekt. Der größere Landesteil von Bangladesch könnte augrund des Klimawandels untergehen. Indigene vom Stamm der Wangan und Jagalingou protestieren gegen das Projekt wegen der großen Umweltzerstörung und des hohen Wasserverbrauch in einer trockenen Gegend. Meanwhile Australia´s prime minister has conceded that climate change is aggravating the fires. However he still does not take any consequences out of it. Tell him to act. In the north-east of Australia in Queensland a huge new coal mine is planned: the Carmichael mine of the Indian Adani company. The coal shall be shipped the long way to India to produce electricity which would then be sold to Bangladesh. It is a cockamamie and cynical project. Major parts of Bangladesh could be flooded by climate change in the future. Indigenous people from the Wangan and Jagalingou communities are mobilizing against the mine that would cause environmental destruction and use up a lot of water in an arid region. Entretanto o primeiro ministro da Austrália admitiu que as mudanças climáticas estão agravando os incêndios. Ainda assim ele não tira nenhuma conseqüência disso. Diga a ele para agir. No nordeste da Austrália, em Queensland, uma enorme nova mina de carvão está planejada: a mina Carmichael da empresa indiana Adani. O carvão for transportado para a Índia para produzir eletricidade, que será vendida para Bangladesh. É um projeto absurdo e cínico. As principais partes do Bangladesh poderiam ser inundadas pelas mudanças climáticas. Rußland hat 2016 den Anbau gentechnisch veränderter Organismen (GMOs) verboten. Auch der Import kann aufgrund der Auswirkungen auf die menschliche Gesundheit und die Umwelt verboten werden. Wir hatten bereits über ein vollständiges GMO-Verbot in Peru und dessen Hintergründe berichtet. Mini Kohleausstieg bei Blackrock

Blackrock hat angekündigt und dann tatsächlich durchgesetzt all seine Anteile an Unternehmen, die mehr als 25% ihres Umsatzes mit Kohleförderung machen, zu verkaufen. Für das Verbrennen von Kohle zwecks Stromerzeugung gibt es eine solche Grenze allerdings bis jetzt nicht. Nichtsdestoweniger markiert es einen Meilenstein, daß der weltgrößte Finanzverwalter sich überhaupt um den Klimawandel schert. Bis jetzt hat es ja nur hohle Willensbekundungen gegeben, die ohne Effekt geblieben sind und die man als klassisches Greenwashing einstufen mußte - bis jetzt. Wir hätten nicht gedacht, daß Blackrock tatsächlich seine Anteile an den deutschen Konzernen RWE und Eon verkauft. Nun es sagt uns, daß sich persistenter Druck vonseiten der Zivilgesellschaft eben doch auszahlt!

Blackrock has announced and divested from all companies that make more than 25% of their business volume with mining coal. However there is no divestment margin for burning coal as used for producing electricity. Nonetheless it marks a milestone that the world´s biggest investment fund does care about climate change in deed. Up to now it has only issued hollow statements of intent which it then did not follow - up to now. We would not have expected Blackrock to sell its shares of the German electricity companies RWE and Eon because of this. Now that is telling us that the persistent protests against the climate wracking investment policy of the fund did in deed already carry fruits!

Die indigenen Landverteidiger der Wet'suwet'en, die gegen eine Fracking-Gaspipeline demonstrieren, haben die starke Unterstützung der kanadischen Bevölkerung. 57 Personen wurden bei einer Blockade des Hafens von Vancouver festgenommen. Den Eingang zum Parlamentsgebäude von British Columbia haben sie versperrt. Auch die Eisenbahn wurde blockiert. Den Wet'suwet'en wurde eigentlich eine Souveränitat über ihr Gebiet anerkannt und sie würden nach kanadischem Gesetz das Recht auf eine freie, vorhergehende und informierte Zustimmung zu allen Projekten auf ihrem Land haben. Jedoch erlaubt eine zeitweilige Verfügung, die permanent angewendet wird, dem Unternehmen Coastal Gaslink am Gebiet der Wet'suwet'en zu operieren. Kanadische Polizeieinheiten (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) terrorisieren die Landverteidiger mit einer schwer bewaffneten Invasion auf ihrem Gebiet, indem sie mit Waffen auf unbewaffnete Indigene zielen und durch willkürliche Festnahmen. Protests across Canada against Fracking Gas Pipeline

The indigenous land defenders from the Wet'suwet'en people who protest against a fracking gas pipeline have strong support across Canada. 57 people were arrested at the Port Vancouver shutdown. Protesters blocked the entrance to the legislature of British Columbia. Railroads have been blocked. The Wet'suwet'en were granted sovereignty on their land and they would have had the right for free, prior, and informed consent under Canadian law before the pipeline could be built. However an interim injunction made permanent allows Coastal GasLink to operate on their territory. Royal Canadian Mounted Police is terrorizing the indigenous land defenders by a heavily armed invasion, by pointing with guns at unarmed people and by arbitrary arrests. Bugfix for xchroot: Under certain conditions directories were not unmounted correctly when leaving the chroot. A possible hang when invoking cleanup later on has also been resolved. Auf den Philppinen darf es in der Provinz Antique keine neuen Kohlekraftwerke geben, dank lokaler Proteste. 100% Erneuerbare: Tausende haben in der Ukraine ihrer Regierung gezeigt, daß ihre Pläne für den Klimaschutz nicht weitreichend genug sind. Saubere Meere: Das Österreichische Erdölunternehmen OMV hat sich aus der umstrittenen Tiefseemine Aotearoa in Neuseeland zurückgezogen. JPMorgan Chase, der weltweit größte Geldgeber für fossile Energien hat seine neue Investitionspolitik bekannt gegeben: Keine Finanzierung neuer Kohlekraftwerke und keine Öl und Gasprojekte in der auftauenden Arktis. Die Proteste haben Wirkung gezeigt. In Teersandminen, eine der dreckigsten, wenn nicht überhaupt die dreckigste Enegiequelle, darf allerdings weiterhin investiert werden.

Clean seas: The Austrian oil company OMV has pulled the plug and stopped its controversial deep-sea drill off the coast of Aotearoa New Zealand. JPMorgan Chase, the world´s largest fossil fuel lender, announced a policy that rules out funding for coal plants, and for oil and gas projects in the melting Arctic. The protests did have success. Deutschland: Gericht bestätigt Recht auf Selbsttötung

Das Gerichtsurteil vom 26.02.2020 in Deutschland erkennt das persönliche Recht auf Selbstbestimmung und damit folglich auch das Recht auf Freiheit und Eigenverantwortung in Bezug auf den Freitod vollumfänglich an. Das Recht auf Selbsttötung verbietet es außerdem die Zulässigkeit einer Hilfe zur Selbsttötung von “materiellen” Kriterien wie einer unheilbaren Krankheit abhängig zu machen. Es kann allerdings Bestimmungen geben, welche die Ernsthaftigkeit und Dauerhaftigkeit des Wunsches nachweislich erfordern. Kirchenvertreter laufen Sturm dagegen und auch die Psychiatrie denunziert Menschen mit Selbsttötungswunsch, indem sie diese Menschen per se als krank definiert.

The court ruling of February 26, 2020 in Germany fully recognizes the personal right to self-determination and thus, consequently, also the right to freedom and personal responsibility conncerning the case when someone wants to end his life. The right to end ones life in self determination also prohibits the eligibility of suicide assistance to depend on “material” criteria such as an incurable disease. However, there may be provisions that demonstrably require the seriousness and durability of the wish. Church representatives are up in arms and psychiatry also denounces people who want to commit suicide by denouncing such pepople as sick per se.

Hühnersupper ist derzeit das einzige wissenschaftlich nachweislich gegen Erkältungskrankheiten wirksame Mittel. Alle anderen Medikamente können nur symptomatisch behandeln. Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, daß Vögel aufgrund ihres Zugverhaltens Resistenzen gegen solche Viren evolutorisch benötigt haben. Man denke nur an die Vogelgrippe. Ob Hühnersupper auch gegen Covid-19 (2019-nCov) wirkt, ist bisher nicht bestätigt aber eine gewisse Wirkung kann man als wahrscheinlich erachten, da Grippe, Schnupfen und Covid-19 alles Coronaviren sind, die insgesamt relativ eng miteinander verwandt sind. Atualmente, a canja de galinha é o único remédio cientificamente comprovado contra resfriados. Todos os outros medicamentos podem tratar apenas os sintomas. Provavelmente, isso se deve ao fato de as aves, devido ao seu comportamento migratório, terem somado resistência contra esses vírus por sua evolução. Basta pensar na gripe aviária. Unfortunately someone has intruded into our email accounts and reset the password there so that we could no more access our own email accounts. Now this has happened for the second time. On 2020-02-12 we realized that the password for elmar@elstel.org had already been reset in the past, on 2020-03-16 the password for both accounts elmar@elstel.org and elws@elstel.org had been reset. Trotz der verheerenden Finanzkrise von 2008 hat sich wenig oder gar nichts geändert. Die Gruppe, welche die Kommission deshalb beraten hat, wurde von Barroso eingesetzt und bestand zum überwiegenden Teil aus Vertretern der Finanzlobby. Das Parlament hätte ja viele Verbesserungsideen zur Kontrolle von Investment Fonds gehabt, aber ohne Kommission kann es keine neuen Gesetzesvorlagen auflegen. Es gibt immer noch keine Regeln für Hedgefonds. Es gibt nach wie vor keine Trennung zwischen Investitions und Geschäftsbanken, sodaß mit Spareinlagen weiter spekuliert werden darf. Nichts ist gegen die frivolen Banker-Boni getan worden, die risikoreiches Verhalten belohnen. Anstatt große Banken aufzuteilen ist die Konzentration im Bankensektor weiter gefördert worden. Bei einer erneuten Krise müßte die Öffentlichkeit wieder Banken, die „too big to fail” sind, mit Steuergeldern retten. Es gibt nach wie vor keine Finanzmarkttransaktionssteuer, die Spekulationen im Hochfrequenzbereich eindämmen würde. Das Vorhaben ist zum Erliegen gekommen, nachdem Frankreich an der Spitze von 11 willigen Ländern lobbbyiert worden ist. Auch das Verkaufen von Krediten von einer Bank an die andere ist mehr denn je gang und gäbe. Das war es, was 2008 erst zur Subprime-Krise in den USA geführt hat. Eine europäische Ratingagentur gibt es nach wie vor nicht und die Ratingagenturen werden nach wie vor von jenen bezahlt, die sie beurteilen sollen. Die Krise 2008 wurde durch betrügerische Ratings hervorgerufen. Das Gremium der EZB ist voll von Vertretern der Finanzindustrie und Politiker wie Jonathan Hill oder José Manuel Barroso sind für ihre Aktivität mit einem gut bezahlten Job in der Finanzindustrie belohnt worden. Verbessert wurde nur die Berichterstattung und etwas die Eigenkapitalanforderungen von Banken.

In spite of the devastating finance crises in 2008 little or nothing has changed. The high level advisory group for the European Commission set up by Barroso was a group with deep links of the very institutions that caused the crises. The parliament would have had many ideas on how to rein investment funds but new laws are always drafted only by the Commission. There are still no rules for hedge funds. No separation between investment and retail banks like in the US to prevent speculation with people´s savings. Nothing has been done about frivolous bonuses which encourage bankers to take risk. Instead of splitting big banks concentration in teh banking sector was fostered. That way the public will have to pay for bail-outs of banks which are 'too big to fail' again if another crises would come. No financial transaction tax has been introduced to curtail high-speed speculation. There is little hope since France was lobbied at the top of 11 countries willing to introduce a FTT. Selling credits from one bank to another is still or even more a common practice. It is what has lead to the subprime crises in the US in 2008. No European rating agency has been established and rating firms are still paid by those who want to have a rating. The crises in 2008 was triggered by fraudulent ratings. Finally the advisory board of the ECB is full of finance industry representatives and politicians like Jonathan Hill and José Manuel Barroso are examples of politicians rewarded with a well paid job in the finance industry after finishing their political career. The only thing that improved was the supervision and to some extent the capital requirments of banks.

O grupo consultivo de alto nível para a Comissão Européia, criado por Barroso, era um grupo com ligações profundas das próprias instituições que causaram as crises. O parlamento teria tido muitas idéias sobre como controlar os fundos de investimento, mas novas leis são sempre elaboradas pela Comissão. Ainda não existem regras para fundos de hedge. Não há separação entre bancos de investimento e varejo, como nos EUA, para evitar especulações com as poupanças das pessoas. Nada foi feito sobre bônus frívolos que incentivam os banqueiros a assumir riscos. Em vez de dividir os grandes bancos, a concentração no setor bancário foi promovida. Dessa forma, o público terá que pagar por resgates de bancos que são grandes demais para falir (too big to fail) novamente se ocorrer outra crise. Nenhum imposto sobre transações financeiras foi introduzido para reduzir a especulação em alta velocidade. Há pouca esperança desde que a França fez lobby no topo dos 11 países que desejam introduzir um ITF. A venda de créditos de um banco para outro ainda é ou até mais uma prática comum. Foi o que levou à crise do subprime nos EUA em 2008. Nenhuma agência de rating européia foi estabelecida e as firmas de rating ainda são pagas por quem deseja obter uma classificação. A crise em 2008 foi desencadeadas por classificações fraudulentas. Finalmente, o conselho consultivo do BCE (Banca Centrale Europea) está cheio de representantes do setor financeiro e políticos como Jonathan Hill e José Manuel Barroso são exemplos de políticos recompensados com um emprego bem remunerado no setor financeiro após terminar sua carreira política. A única coisa que melhorou foi a supervisão e, em certa medida, os requisitos de capital próprio dos bancos.

Wir haben uns im Internet einmal umgeschaut, welche Suchmaschinen ihre Resultate von Ergebnissen auf elstel.org zensurieren. Dabei haben wir nach den folgenden beiden Begriffen gesucht:

Qwant, Bing und Yahoo zeigen die Resultate von elstel.org in einer der obersten beiden Stellen, während Google und Startpage diese aus dem Index gelöscht haben. Was mit „The Truth about Love and Christianity” passiert ist, war mehr als offensichtlich. Es ging schon eine Zeit lang so, daß andere Seiten darauf verlinkt hatten. Dann, plötzlich, eines Tages hatten wir viele Treffer von Google Suchresultaten. Zwei Tage später war davon allerdings nichts mehr zu merken. Die Resultate der zwei Tage wurden sogar von der Google Search Console gelöscht, einem Tool mit dem man sich vergangene Suchresultate von Google, die auf die eigene Seite verlinken, für ein Monat zurück oder so anschauen kann. We have had a look in the internet which search engines censor their results from elstel.org. We have been searching for the following terms:

Qwant, Bing and Yahoo show the results from elstel.org in one of the top two positions while the same pages have been deleted from the index in Google and Startpage. It was very obvious with Truth about Love and Christianity. We have observed for some time that quite some pages have been linking us. Then one day we got a lot of Google search results. Two days later everything was gone. The search results from the two days before had even been deleted from the Google Search Console, a tool you can normally use to view page leads by Google to your site for a month or so back in time. Wikileaks had published documents about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan revealing 15,000 casualties. Together with Bradley Edward Manning Julian Assange has made the „Collateral Murder“ video public where ten people, two Reuters journalists among them, were killed deliberately by US combat helicopter pilots.

London: Legal scholar Carey Shenkman is critical of the 1917 Espionage Act in general, given its overbreadth, how it has been used to punish dissidents in the past, and how it does not allow a “public interest” defense. “There has never been an indictment of a U.S. publisher under the law for publication of secrets,” let alone “an extraterritorial indictment of a non-U.S. publisher,” Shenkman noted. Ohne CDA 230 sind Technologieunternehmen wie Facebook, Twitter, Reddit und YouTube rechtlich für alles verantwortlich, was Menschen wie Sie und ich auf ihren Plattformen tun. Der Chefkommandant im Militärkrankenhaus: Dort hat man sicher alles für ihn getan, was möglich war inklusive Plasmaspende. Gestern habe ich wieder ein Email auf elmar@elstel.org bekommen, das von den Geheimdiensten ärgerlicherweise gelöscht worden ist, bevor ich es aufmachen konnte. Es war Zufall, daß mir mein Tablet überhaupt den Empfang des Emails gemeldet hat. Warum schreiben Sie mir nicht mit der Post, wenn Emails nicht funktionieren? Unter Kontakt sowie im Telefonbuch unter Klagenfurt sind eine postalische Adresse von mir zu finden. Ich antworte normalerweise auf jedes Email; sonst habe ich es nicht empfangen.

CumEx war der größte in Gesetz gegossene Steuerbetrug der deutschen Geschichte. Insgesamt schätzt man, daß dem Staat dadurch ein Schaden von 31,8Mrd Euro entstanden ist. Die Steuer wurde einmal bezahlt und danach gleich mehrmals rückerstattet. Es wurden Aktien aus dem Ausland nach Deutschland und zurück verkauft nur um den Staat auszuplündern. Erfunden wurde das ganze ursprünglich von Hanno Berger, Sohn eines Pfarrers, der zuvor als Staatsdiener im Finanzamt Frankfurt am Main-Börse gearbeitet hatte. Trotz mehrmaligen Whistleblowern wurde der seit 1992 bestehende Betrug erst 2012 abgeschafft. Große Banken haben die Geschäfte eingefädelt und sich Gesetze zwecks Steuerbetrugs selber schreiben lassen: „Das Gesetz ist genau so übernommen worden, wie es die Bankenlobby geschrieben hat.” (abgeordnetenwatch.de). Auch wenn der Staat das ganze Geld nie zurückbekommen wird, wären mehr Staatsanwälte zur Aufarbeitung geboten: zur Petition.

Unbemerkt von der Öffentlichkeit hat das Schweizer Parlament das «Bundesgesetz über polizeiliche Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung von Terrorismus» angenommen – trotz scharfer Kritik von fünf Uno-Sonderberichterstattern und über 60 Schweizer Rechtsexpert*innen. Neu könnten Maßnahmen gegen «terroristische Gefährder» ergriffen werden, selbst wenn noch keine Straftat begangen worden ist. Die Definition von «Gefährdern» ist gefährlich ungenau. Darum warnt Amnesty International, daß auch legitime Aktivitäten von Journalistinnen, politischen Aktivisten und der Zivilgesellschaft betroffen sein könnten. Die Einteilung, wer ein Gefährder ist, übernimmt nicht ein unabhängiger Richter, sondern die Polizei gleich selber. Ein Skandal!

Measures against “terrorist threats” could now be taken, even if no criminal offense has yet been committed. The definition of “endangerers” is dangerously imprecise. Amnesty International therefore warns that legitimate activities by journalists, political activists and civil society could also be affected. The classification of who is an endangerer will not done by an independent judge, but by the police themselves. A scandal!

O Parlamento suíço aprovou a “Lei Federal sobre Medidas Policiais para Combater o Terrorismo” despercebida pelo público - apesar das duras críticas de cinco relatores especiais da ONU e mais de 60 juristas suíços. Medidas contra “ameaças terroristas” agora podem ser tomadas, mesmo que nenhum crime tenha sido cometido. A definição de “ameaçadores” é perigosamente imprecisa. A Amnistia Internacional, portanto, alerta que as atividades legítimas de jornalistas, ativistas políticos e da sociedade civil também podem ser afetadas. A classificação de quem é um ameaçador, não é feita por um juiz independente, mas pela própria polícia. Um escândalo!

Schweizer Unternehmen exportieren bei uns längst verbotene Pestizide, nur damit die damit gespritzten Lebensmitteln wieder in die EU in großem Stile reimportiert werden. Unternehmen die im fernen Ausland Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Umweltverbrechen begehen, können mit Hauptsitz in der Schweiz hier aber nicht belangt werden. Die Konzernverantwortungsinitiative will genau das ändern. Bevor diese den Schweizern zur Abstimmung kommt, macht die Konzernlobby mit einer Verunsicherungskampagne zwecks Wirtschaftsstandort noch einmal mobil. Deshalb bittet die Konzernverantwortungsinitiative Postkarten an Freunde in der Schweiz zu schreiben um diese dazu zu bewegen zur Abstimmung zu gehen. Es könnte knapp werden! Wenn das in der Schweiz durchgeht, könnte es Vorbild für die ganze Welt sein!

Swiss companies are exporting pesticides that have long been banned in Switzerland, just so that crops doused with these chemicals are re-imported into the EU on large scale. Companies that have their headquarters in Switzerland and that commit human rights violations and environmental crimes cannot be prosecuted there. The corporate responsibility initiative aims to change that. Before this comes to the Swiss vote, the corporate lobby is mobilizing against it with a campaign of uncertainty targeting the Swiss business location. That is why the corporate responsibility initiative asks to write postcards to friends in Switzerland to get them to vote. It could be close! If it was passed in Switzerland that could be a precedent for the whole world!

Antes que isso chegue ao voto suíço, o lobby corporativo está se mobilizando contra a iniciativa com uma campanha de incerteza visando o local de negócios suíço. É por isso que a iniciativa de responsabilidade corporativa pede para escrever cartões-postais para amigos na Suíça para que votem. Pode estar perto! Aktuellen Berichten zufolge mußte die brasilianische Umweltbehörde Ibama den Kampf gegen die Waldbrände stoppen und alle Einsatzkräfte zurückziehen. Offenbar fehlt es der Behörde an finanziellen Mitteln, um weiter gegen die verheerende Zerstörung von Brasiliens Wäldern vorzugehen.
Das Europäische Parlament hat gestern endgültig beschlossen, die Agrarpolitik der EU bis 2027 im wesentlichen unverändert zu lassen. Und das trotz erheblicher Kritik von Seiten der Wissenschaft, einer großen Bewegung aus Klima-, Umwelt- und progressiven Agrarverbänden sowie Sozialdemokraten, Grünen und Linken. EVP und Liberale haben für den Deal gestimmt. „Wir fordern Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen auf, von ihrem Recht Gebrauch zu machen, die Verhandlungen abzubrechen und einen neuen GAP-Vorschlag zu unterbreiten.” Die vom EU-Parlament beschlossene Agrarreform widerspricht nämlich allem, was im Green Deal von Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen bei ihrem Amtsantritt angekündigt wurde; zum Beitrag von NABU.

Yesterday the European Parliament finally decided to leave the EU's agricultural policy essentially unchanged until 2027. And that despite considerable criticism from science, a large movement made up of climate, environmental and progressive agricultural associations as well as Social Democrats, the Greens and the Left. David Sassoli, Präsident des europäischen Parlaments, hat die Abstimmung über die Agrarsubventionen einen Tag nach vorne verschoben. Das klint nach keiner großen Änderung - wer würde sich schon daran stoßen? Es wurde jedoch über 60 Millarden Euro an Förderungen entschieden. Die kurzfristige Datumsänderung hat die ganze Abstimmung durcheinander gebracht und zu dem Vorwurf geführt, daß die Agrarlobby dahinter stehe. Das Resultat war ein Votum das die Klimabemühungen der EU torpediert und deshalb wollen wir Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen auch noch einmal dazu auffordern einen neuen GAP-Vorschlag zu unterbreiten.

Wir hatten in unserer letzten Nachricht über Adani´s Mega-Kohlemiene in Australien berichtet um Profite mit dem Export von Kohleenergie von Indien nach Bangladesch, das durch den Klimawandel im Meer versinken könnte, zu machen. Das Projekt zeigt einmal mehr wie extrem rücksichtslos der neoliberale Musterschüler Indien in Sachen Wirtschaftspolitik vorgeht. Mit einem solchen Projekt ist die Einhaltung des 1,5° Zieles weltweit wohl nicht möglich, was bedeutet das alle Korallenriffe, wie es sie schon seit Jahrmillionen gibt, absterben würden. Aufgrund anhaltender Proteste hat sich ein privater Geldgeber nach dem anderen zurückgezogen, doch jetzt will der indische Staat für seinen Adani Konzern einspringen. Indien hat nicht das Recht auf andere zu zeigen, wenn man sich nur anschaut wie rücksichtslos Indien mit neokolonialem Gehabe gegen die indigene Bevölkerung auf den Andamanen vorgeht. Der eigenen indigene Bevölkerung ergeht es nicht besser; sie wird zur Einrichtung von Reservaten gewaltsam enteignet und vertrieben.

The project shows once again how extremely reckless the neoliberal model student India behaves when it comes to its economic policy. With such a project, compliance with the 1.5° target is probably not possible worldwide, which means that all coral reefs, as they have been around for millions of years, would die off. Due to ongoing protests, one private donor after the other has withdrawn, but now the Indian state wants to step in for its Adani group. India does not have the right to point with the finger at others. You need to consider on how recklessly India acts with neo-colonial behavior against the indigenous people of the Andaman Islands. Informationen können global und sehr schnell verbreitet werden. — Es gibt jedoch auch eine Globalisierung, die in ihrer jetzigen Form auf dem Aufstieg des neoliberalen Wirtschaftsmodells fußt. Es ist bekannt, daß dieses zu Ungleichheit und Umweltzerstörung führt. Neoliberalismus ist soetwas wie „Gier als Ideologie”. Wenn ein Ausdruck ein vollständiges Wort und nicht möglicherweise der Teil eines Wortes sein soll dann fügen Sie am Anfang und am Ende des Wortes ein Leerzeichen ein, also „ EU ”. Groß- und Kleinschreibung wird ignoriert. Werden die Zeichen „^” oder „$” für Anfang und Ende verwendet, muß nach bzw. vor diesen Zeichen auch ein künstliches Leerzeichen stehen. Es reicht für die Anzeige wenn das Wort in einer von mehreren Übersetzungen einer Nachricht vorkommt.

ViewRSS: search for a regular expression

It is a new feature that you can search in the online RSS-viewer for messages containing a regular expression. That can be a singleton word, a choice between multiple words like ‘(atea|debcheckroot)’ or it can be several words separated by ‘.*’ that must then occur in the specified order. If you want to search for an entire word and not an expression, which can also equal the part of a word, you must add a space at the beginning and the end, like ‘ EU ’. There is no case sensitivity between upper and lower case. If you wanna use the regular expression special characters ‘^’ or ‘$’ for the beginning and end of a message then you must respectively follow or precede these special characters also by a space. It is sufficient that a regular expression is encountered in any of many translations of a message in order for all of these messages to be displayed.

É um novo recurso que você pode pesquisar no visualizador RSS online para mensagens que contenham uma expressão regular. Pode ser uma palavra única, uma escolha entre várias palavras como ‘(atea | debcheckroot)’ ou podem ser várias palavras separadas por ‘.*’ que deve-se enocontrar no texto na ordem especificada. Se você quiser pesquisar uma palavra inteira e não uma expressão, que também pode comparar-se à parte de uma palavra, você deve adicionar um espaço no início e no final, como em ‘ EU ’. Não há distinção entre maiúsculas e minúsculas. Se você quiser usar os caracteres especiais de expressões regulares ‘^’ ou ‘$’ para o início e o final de uma mensagem, você deve respectivamente seguir ou preceder esses caracteres especiais por um espaço. É suficiente que uma expressão regular seja encontrada em qualquer uma das muitas traduções de uma mensagem para que todas essas mensagens sejam exibidas.

Fridays for Future hat auch in Klagenfurt, Österreich mit einer Teelichteraktion am Neuen Platz an das 1,5°C Ziel erinnert (11.12.2020). Die derzeit vom EU-Rat beschlossenen Reduktionsziele von -55% netto (kommt auf 50.5%-52.8% brutto) bis 2030, das heißt abzüglich der natürlichen CO₂-Bindung, reichen für das 1,5° Ziel noch nicht aus (-80% wäre inzwischen wohl nötig). Für Inselstaaten und Korallenriffe dürfte keine höhere Erwärmung eintreten. China hat derweil eine Reduktion von 65% im Vergleich zum BIP bis 2030 angekündigt.

FFF remembers us of the 1.5° target

Fridays for Future has also remembered in Klagenfurt, Austria with a tea ligth lettering on the New Square about the 1.5°C target (2020-12-11). The reduction commmitments of the Council of Europe do currently amount to -55% netto (which equals 50.5%-52.8% brutto) which is however still insufficient for the 1.5° target that required by now -80%. Netto means that you need to subtract the CO₂ absorbation achieved by nature. That would already be too much for insular states and the coral reefs. China has commited to a reduction of 65% up to 2030 in comparison with the GDP.

As ativistas de Fridays for Future lembraram-nos com um letreiro de chá, também aqui no Klagenfurt na Nova Praça, sobre a meta de 1,5°C (2020-12-11). Os compromissos de redução do Conselho da Europa ascendem atualmente a -55% líquido (o que equivale a 50,5% -52,8% bruto), o que, no entanto, ainda é insuficiente para a meta de 1,5° que exigira entretanto -80%. Líquido significa que você precisa subtrair a absorção de CO2 alcançada pela natureza. Isso já seria demais para os estados insulares e os recifes de corais. A China se comprometeu com uma redução de 65% até 2030 na comparação com o PIB.

xchroot v2.5 - now with mount mirroring

xchroot has a new feature: It can mirror mounts into the root as well as out of the root while a chroot is in progress. This is achieved by forking a mirror-mountd process. Furthermore the code has been cleaned up to allow faster unmounts on exit, prettier printing with three message levels and an effective polling whether a sub-process has terminated on exit. Mounting the home directory into the root can now be done with a simple command line switch. As there have been done some bigger changes to xchroot, further testing is welcome.

Wir haben das Quell-Tag unserer rss-Nachrichten überarbeitet. Jetzt gibt es statt einer Quelle pro Programm eine Quelle für Sicherheits-, Linux-Systemsoftware und andere Software. Weiters haben wir die Kategorisierung zwischen ‘info’ und ‘action’ nachgebessert, sodaß man sich mit ‘articles & info’ alle relevanten Nachrichten vergangener Jahre anschauen kann, ohne über damalige Petitionen hinwegscrollen zu müssen. Öffnen Sie zum Einstellen der Quelle das FilterOptionen-Menü.

ViewRSS: revised categorization of messages

We have updated the ‘Source’ tag of our rss messages. Instead of one source by program we have now sources for security, Linux-systems and other programs. We have also revised the categorization between ‘info’ and ‘action’ so that you can view all relevant news from past years without having to scroll over old petitions. You may specify ‘articles & info’ in the ‘Query Options’ menu to view previous news and new articles.

Der 6.400 Hektar große Schutzwald Los Cedros mit seinen 315 Vogel-, fünf Katzen-, drei Affenarten, darunter dem vom Aussterben bedrohten Braunkopfklammeraffen und dem Brillenbär konzentriert eine enorme Menge an Forschungsarbeiten. Hinzu kommen mehr als 400 Orchideenarten! All diese Artenvielfalt ist durch ein großes Bergbauprojekt des kanadischen Unternehmens Cornerstone bedroht. Nun hat das ecuadorianische Verfassungsgericht mit der „Aktion zum Schutz des Waldes Los Cedros” das Gebiet als Präzedenzfall ausgewählt.

The 6,400-hectare protected forest Los Cedros, with its 315 bird, five cat and three monkey species, including the endangered brown-headed spider monkey as well as the spectacled bear – not to mention more than 400 orchid species – is a rich subject for research work. This burgeoning biodiversity is threatened by a major mining project by Cornerstone, a Canadian mining company. The Constitutional Court of Ecuador has announced it will hear arguments in this precedent case to protect the threatened forest against mining development.

Além disso, há mais de 400 espécies de orquídeas! Toda essa diversidade de espécies está ameaçada por um enorme projeto de mineração da empresa canadense Cornerstone. Agora o Tribunal Constitucional equatoriano escolheu a região como caso precedente para a “Ação para proteção da floresta de Los Cedros”.

xchroot v2.5.3 - some important bugfixes

BugFixes towards v2.5: The user management was broken as we forgot to change $OPTARG into $optarg. xchroot can now be run directly as user without openroot macro. createstartup now also works for Xfce and other desktop environments, not only for Xfce. Unmounting on exit has been improved and should work correctly in all cases. You may now run a program like /dst/deb32/bin/hostname directly also if /dst instead of /dst/deb32 is a sudoers praefix. Alas we could not fully test this new version because our offline computer is under attack from western secret services. That is why we would highly estimate contributions/bugfixes by users. The program is already GPLv3.
