͏The new version of atea includes download progress viewing, automatic restarts of downloads on stalled downloads and on read errors as well as some important bugfixes for download continuation. a̅tea is a tool for secure downloads via DANE. It can detect and thus prevent access to sites spoofed by intelligence.

Bugfix for xchroot: Under certain conditions directories were not unmounted correctly when leaving the chroot. A possible hang when invoking cleanup later on has also been resolved. No more spurious error message on chroot to relative directory. When already inside the directory of the chroot the directory is kept on chrooting.

At the same time we show how to set up a secure emailing environment with Firefox via DANE. Before we deployed this technology dozens of emails from elws@elstel.org were lost, apparently due to censorship by secret services.

bugfix(1): confinedrv did blend in the original disk instead of the specified partition image if access rights for the image were lower than for the subsequent partition.
bugfix(2): correct enforcement of access rights for blended in MBR image

xchroot has been furnished with many new features:

• pulseaudio support
• running programs directly with xchroot without additionally specifying the chroot root directory (fetched from sudoers)
• program parameters with quotes and spaces are passed on correctly
• create desktop files for applications inside the chroot to run them with file associations and the GUI starter menu of the host system
• current working directory is preserved if it exists inside the chroot
